Job Summary

The Corporate Accounting Director (Revenue and Accounts Receivable) is responsible for overseeing the completion of the month end close process and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with GAAP for all revenue and accounts receivable related functions. This position is also responsible for oversight and training of accounting staff.




  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years leading and managing an accounting team in a mid-to-large sized company
  • CPA certification is required
  • Prior SEC or public accounting experience is desired
  • Proficient with general ledger systems, MS Excel and other analytical tools
  • Highly motivated individual that works well in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong managerial and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and SOX internal accounting controls
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical accounting issues with senior leaders and external auditors


  • Supervise month end closing activities and provide guidance to accounting staff during the close process:
    • Review and approve AR and revenue related journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations
    • Oversee resolution of accounting discrepancies and issues
    • Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of financial statements through review and oversight of the monthly close process
  • Oversee the accounts receivable function:
    • Manages a team of AR Analysts that performs billings of hotel customers, cash application, and monitoring of past due accounts
    • Ensures timely billings and cash application within 24 hours of receipt
    • Maintain good business relations with respective hotel properties and/or ownership contacts
    • Timely response to questions from customers regarding billings and also ensures resolution of billing discrepancies
    • Proactively manages aging of receivables and works with Central Accounting/Operations to collect aged balances
    • Reporting to executive management of AR balances and collections
    • Follows corporate policies in handling, collecting and disposing of accounts receivable
    • Review and analyze monthly bad debt allowance analysis and ensure allowance is being booked according to company policy and GAAP
    • Review and sign off on month-end balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure Company financial records are maintained in compliance with Company policies and US GAAP
  • Further develop internal controls over financial reporting and accounting processes
  • Serve as a resource for groups outside the accounting function on accounting matters
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency
  • Hire, develop, retain and direct high-performing team members
  • Demonstrate leadership and management in a manner that positively motivates and supports company values, policies and ethical procedures
  • Create an environment that allows for creativity and fosters independent thinking
  • Proactively establish priorities and ensure consistent and timely follow through
  • Coordinate responses to external audit groups
