Attractions Supervisor

The arcade supervisor is responsible for assisting customers of an arcade facility and performing minor repairs on various machines. Throughout his/her shift, the arcade supervisor explains game operation or rules to customers, helps show usage of kiosk to redeem cards for playtime and responds to patron complaints of machine malfunction. When a machine stops working, the arcade supervisor opens the machine mechanism of machines with special keys and analyzes the mechanism to find the root of the problem, such as slugs, bent coins or other foreign objects. The arcade supervisor may also assist maintenance workers or the service persons on repairs of the machine. He/she keeps records of the time and activities of the workers or service persons. He/she observes customers and keeps peace and order inside the facility or store. The arcade manager asks disruptive persons to leave and calls security or the police if troublemakers refuse to leave the store. He/She will be responsible for opening and closing of the business. He/She will handle/pull cash at closing. He/She will assist aquatics manager to manage staff and their required duties daily.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school degree or equivalent is required.
• Extensive knowledge of steamships/sailing and /or maritime history required
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to physically maintain displays and archival materials
• Ability to learn and retain the ship's historical and technical information
• Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail speed and accuracy
• Ability to move throughout the Queen Mary (standing walking) for extended periods of time
• Ability to multi-task in a high-profile high-traffic environment
• Must possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money
• Must have the ability to communicate clearly and directly with guests using a positive clear speaking voice
• Ability to read comprehend and write simple instructions and/or short correspondence and memos

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Acts as a steward of the arcade.
• Maintains an up to date working knowledge and historical knowledge of the arcade room/games
• Acts as a spokesman for the waterpark in regards to attractions
• Serves as the primary guide for attraction clients
• Serves as an experienced trainer for new visitors
• Learns and presents the script for all games
• Opens and closes attraction areas
• Greets guests in a warm and friendly manner acknowledging them upon arrival
• Ensures the game area displays are clean organized and well-maintained
• Answers questions about the Arcade room
• Interacts with members in a professional manner assisting other departments with necessary information
• Manages and resolves guest complaints and compliments in a professional and courteous manner
• Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all property amenities as well as any special events
• Participates in the monthly forecast of revenues and expenses for the Attraction Department
