The Director of Wellness plans, creates and manages Wellness programs of the resort to achieve customer (guest & employee) satisfaction, provide impactful wellness experiences, while meeting/exceeding financial goals. Experience operating medium to large spa and wellness operations is required for this position. The position is responsible for short and long term strategic planning and day-to-day operations of all wellness programming and facilities on the property. Experience creating programming in the spa, fitness and wellness spaces, along with sharing insight and ideas for other departments. Includes spa treatment creation and development, activity creation, special event creation and management of execution. Understanding the scheduling and flow of operations and how it relates to the associate experience and the guest journey. Ability to ensure associates have the right workload to do their best work and the guest experience is always positive.
Experience in massage, esthetics, fitness or mindfulness, along with knowledge in holistic practices such as aromatherapy, Ayurveda, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), meditation, sound therapy, nutrition, mindful movement and breath work, preferred.
A proven record of hiring and building a positive, cohesive team that knows how to take care of the well-being of each other and our guests. As a Director, direct reports will include other leaders and associates. Partners with the Director of Finance, Director of Sales & Marketing, Director of People & Culture, and General Manager to develop and recommend the budget, marketing plans and objectives and manages within those approved plans. Financial acumen is essential, with fluency in reading, understanding, and managing a Profit and Loss statement, including inventory. Systems fluency with technology platforms used in operations of the resort and wellness spaces.
Primary duties must consist of administrative executive or professional tasks more than 50 percent of the time and job duties must also involve the use of discretion and independent judgement more than 50 percent of the time.
