The Recreation Intern is responsible for planning organizing leading and evaluating all day-to-day activity programs including all holiday and group events. The ability to lead a variety of activities including crafts sports games exercise nature walk etc is a necessity. This individual must be a self-motivated outgoing enthusiastic creative and a dependable person. With exceptional communication skills.

Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPR First Aid and AED Certification
  • Previous experience with children preferred.
  • Must be well organized creative and a self-starter.
  • Must be able to lead groups of people and children in a variety of activities.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evening holidays and weekends.
  • Must have knowledge of age appropriate activities and enjoy working with all age groups.
  • Must be courteous and perform according to Ginn Clubs and Resorts Guiding Principles at all times.
  • Major in Recreation or another related field
  • Must be able to read write and converse in the English language.
  • Must be able to bend stretch shove pull transcend steps and lift and carry 60 pounds.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in Florida sub-tropical climate

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans organizes leads and evaluates all daily activity programs including a variety of special events and Holiday programs.
  • Organizes and maintains quality assurance of all programs while maintaining outstanding levels of guests and members service. 
  • Maintains all weekly and monthly guest programs pre-registration. 
  • Performs daily office procedures including general accounting duties. Keep all areas neat clean and in good repair. 
  • Assist in the coordination of conference group team building.
  • Assist in the operation of Kids Crew program.
  • Provides great public relations and keeps abreast of resort and member happenings all to be of better service to our guests and members and to keep current on recreation trends.
  • Make sure we have what is needed for the weeks scheduled activities.
  • Works on special projects and contributes ideas to the growth of the department.
  • Be cross trained in all other department within the Recreation Department
  • Assist in the development of department staff members.
  • Must be able to keep the attention of the children as well as keep them in a group. 
  • You must at all times know the staff/child ratio (8 to 1) 
  • Assist and advise where needed with all recreational needs throughout the Hospitality group of properties
  • Be enthusiastic through out the program and energetic. This will help keep the children happy and your day will go smoothly. When the children are happy the parents are happy.
  • Assist managers in Fitness Center and Spa
  • Assist Pool Manager with daily pool beach putting green and towels hut operations.
