Job Summary

The Regional VP of Human Resources is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of properties and the team that supports them in all areas related to  the implementation of human capital strategies policies programs and engagement efforts along with the Operations Leaders ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws; overseeing all aspects of the implementation of wage benefit worker’s compensation unemployment; benefit processes; training program direction implementation and administration; and employee relations coaching counseling and discipline for the assigned region within Aimbridge Hospitality. The incumbent will function as a business partner for the Operations leaders Providing guidance advice and collaborate on business solutions for people strategy and problem solving. This individual will act as an advisor on all things related to people strategy with a strong working knowledge of all HR subject matter and acts a liaison with the subject matter experts (SMEs) and centers of excellence (COEs) as support for the operations team. Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities. This position requires strong critical thinking and communications skills and the ability to manage multiple issues and priorities.

Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a hotel or a related industry; or a 4-year college degree and at least 8 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and 6 or more years of related experience.
  • Previous supervisory responsibility required.
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of employment laws market and local/state ordinances. 
  • Must be proficient in Windows Operating Systems
  • Demonstrates tactical and strategic critical thinking skills illustrated in the ability to work through tools dig in and clarify needed facts and show familiarity with processes and practical hotel operations to ask good questions. 
  • Demonstrates awareness of business trends challenges and nuances to understand long-term strategies the vision and ownership dynamic.

  • Effectively assess risk and consequences both intended and unintended as well as provide an objective balance to otherwise emotional reactions.
  • Work together as a team using each other’s strengths to create better advice policies and provide guidance.
  • Communicate to all that have a need to know in a timely manner and we seek assistance when we are asked to do something which may be new and different so we can build our experiences off of others knowledge.
  • Provide support for the company strategies and implementation of the policies and programs for the organization.
  • Build a structure for leaders to allow them to better select talent coach and develop talent and promote and retain talent.
  • Teach coach guide leaders on how to drive engagement how to treat our people instilling servant leadership approach with listening and providing benefit of the doubt.
  • Talent that is open to feedback coaching and learning at all levels creates the opportunity for improved service and generates career opportunities. Strong engagement practices drive the internal and external talent pipeline.
  • Assist leaders in learning the processes that impact their people. This runs the gamut from finding information in the payroll system posting positions in iCIMS to writing and communicating feedback and providing company approved training on compliance and leadership skills.
  • Provide advice and direction to help our leaders be better leaders and in turn build an efficient and effective business model to allow for better business results. 
  • Look for opportunities to use technology to reduce or eliminate manual processes so leaders can focus on the business. Taking care of associates and guests drives results.
