A Cook is responsible for preparing all food items based on standardized recipes for the Cafe Room Service Employee Cafeteria and Banquets while maintaining the highest standards to produce an appealing and appetizing product. He/she is also responsible for ensuring the cleanliness sanitation and safety in the kitchen and work areas while minimizing waste and maximizing cost/production ratio. The Prep Cook also is responsible for preparing cold foods and shellfish slicing meat and brewing coffee or tea.

The Server is responsible for taking customer's food and drink orders serve food and beverages prepare itemized checks and sometimes accept payments primarily during the AM hours. May perform additional duties which may include escorting guests to tables serving customers seated at counters setting up and clearing tables or operating a cash register. They also check the identification of patrons to ensure they meet the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcohol. Responsible for providing the highest quality of service possible to guests in an efficient and courteous manner.

The Food & Beverage Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Food and Beverage Manager in ensuring first quality Food and Beverage service while maintaining adherence to budgeted payroll and overhead costs. He/she is also responsible for continually working toward improving Food and Beverage sales revenues beyond budget. 

The Bistro Attendant is responsible for providing the highest quality of service possible to guests in an efficient and courteous manner specifically within the Bistro at the Hotel.

The Gift Shop Attendant sells gift shop merchandise to customers. Unpacks verifies and inspects received goods rejecting damaged items or incorrect orders. Maintains records of items received. Prepares goods for display or sale and sorts and distributes items to the appropriate department.

A Safety & Security Guard is responsible for providing protection for hotel guests employees and property. They are also responsible for providing guests with a sense of comfort and well being by maintaining a level of visibility. Depending on the hotel may be stationed in the base office for security of the Associate entrance and for conducting temperature checks during COVID procedures (as required).

The On-Call Banquets Barback is responsible for accepting payment for food and beverages and making proper change for guests during a banquet event. He/she is also responsible for assisting the Host/Hostess in the prompt greeting and seating of all guests and assist servers as needed.

This ten to twelve week structured program contains learning objectives that give students the opportunity to gain hands on experience in the hotel industry. The internship exposes a student to a full-service, convention property with 970 guest rooms, 6 food and beverage outlets, and just over 95,000 sq ft of meeting space.  Students will be placed in a division of their interest but have the oppoertunity to shadow a variety of departments during their internship.
